A maintenance worker often handles general maintenance tasks at a building or business, but could also work specifically with equipment.

The role could involve maintaining equipment and machinery, electrical systems, safety systems, heating and air conditioning system maintenance, plumbing work, carpentry, wall painting, furniture maintenance, and repair work like floor repairing, machinery repairing, and more. This role can vary widely depending on where you work.

 

A Maintenance Role could involve:

Ensure building and practices adhere to health and safety

Maintain equipment and facilities 

Routine maintenance such as: fire alarm testing, lightbulb changing

Organise PAT testing

Maintain and manage gardens

Skills Needed

  • Proactive and organised
  • Practical and hard-working
  • Knowledge of health and safety desirable
